Representation matters! My classroom library needs to reflect the learning environment I want my students to thrive in. My students and my vision for our classroom is one that is forward thinking, inclusive, and filled with learning opportunities.
In order to make my learning community the best it can be and to accomplish our school goals of being a STEM focused school and improving students' reading skills, I have hand selected books that encourage exploration and embraces differences.
My classroom will celebrate that fact that anyone can be a scientist from titles such as Rosie Revere, Engineer and Scientist, Scientist Who Do You See. Rounded out by books that celebrate mistakes and differences like The Beautiful Oops and Same, Same but Different. These books will enrich our culture of science and acceptance.
