My students are grades 9-12. In my English 9 classes they are mostly freshmen, and a few 10th graders that are repeating the course. In my Geometry classes, there is a mix of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I teach special education for students with students with learning disabilities, and/or Emotional Disabilities and/or Autism; so these students really require a higher level of engaging activities to pique their interest in the classroom. Most of the students in my school are from families with low SES and any support is greatly appreciated. As an educator (especially in special education), I want to do everything in my power to give my students the tools for success. Funding at my school is limited, and while some teachers got new laptop carts, I did not. I want my students to benefit from a 1:1 learning environment because they deserve that opportunity. I strive to incite a passion for learning!
