On the first week of school, we did name tents, but I put a spin on these. I added a section on their name tent "What Ms. C needs to know about me." This section of their name tent prompted a number of responses that included "math is my least favorite subject." I want my students to leave my class loving math. I believe that I can do this by tapping into their nature of curiosity.
My goal for this year is to teach my students rigorous math while engaging them with the content in unique ways. I want to turn math from a class they are required to take, into a class they can't wait to be in.
