My students have developed a growth mindset by challenging themselves to work at a more rigorous level. In my classroom, I have a one hour block in which students rotate through reading centers. These learning centers and magnetic letters, used during my reading centers, will give my students the ability to work independently in a center on their word building skills, kinesthetically. My class will be extremely excited to be able to use the magnetic letters to build words on the magnetic whiteboard stand and portable whiteboards.
Another center that will give them the opportunity to learn independently is a listening center. They look forward to each time I read aloud to them. They will benefit so much from the listening center headphones because it'll give them another opportunity to listen to stories being read fluently; in a small group setting. My ultimate goal is for all of my students to leave my classroom as fluent readers and these materials will give them an opportunity to do so.
