I have a special needs classroom with many different needs. I teach students in grades K and 1.
All of my students have significant special needs. Most of my students receive speech, occupational and physical therapy and have delays in these areas, making fine motor skills such as writing and cutting difficult.
My students work in small group centers and need support to practice and reinforce their math, reading, and writing skills. I have students who are nonverbal and selectively mute. Most of my students are learning how to be students, learn how to write, read, and recognize letters and numbers.
My students are hands-on and active learners and need highly engaging activities to keep them motivated and engaged in the lessons.
Despite my students learning challenges they are hard working and very eager to learn. They make every day enjoyable and fun as they are genuinely excited about learning and school.
