Children with Autism benefit from sensory stimulation. It helps our brain create neural pathways and improves sensory processing systems. This will then lead my students to improve both their sensory and social skills, the main one being communication.
Having this range of different sensory/fidget items, such as the puzzles, fidget toys, inflatable lounger, the night light projector and dividers, readily available in our calming area will be very beneficial in helping my students transition from a state of anxiety to a calm state of mind. When my students use these type of sensory toys/items, it helps calm down their emotions, allowing them come back to the group with the rest of their peers with a positive attitude.
