Welcome to Mrs. Henley's Music Class! I am a 5th year teacher teaching music in the Taylorville Elementary Schools. I am an itinerant teacher, meaning I travel to more than one school in the district. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade and Fourth Grade students at both North Elementary and Memorial Elementary.
In my classroom, students use many different mediums to enhance learning, including instruments and technology.
Our school district has limited funding, and although our music program is well supported, there is always a need for more equipment and supplies.
I believe students should be exposed to as many different varieties of music as possible. This includes music from different genres or countries. I strongly value music literacy and practice it each day with my students. Music is the only language the whole world speaks, so we should all be given the chance to learn it!
