The past 2 year have been difficult. Students have been in person, virtually learning at home, and some missing time in the face to face classroom. Learning gaps have occurred. It is my mission, and my hearts desire, to get rid of these gaps through hands on learning and technology integration. To lessen these learning gaps, and help my students meet their educational needs, I am requesting multiple types of math manipulatives, and online educational resources. My main emphasis being addition and subtraction, which we would like 2nd grade to be able to fluidly accomplish. Many students need manipulatives to help understand, or bring meaning, to math. We use tens frames, hundreds charts, cubes, and so much more on a daily basis. These allow me to meet my students where they are at, using relevant materials. Wouldn't you like to learn through play? Integrating technology is VERY important in todays world. My students are faced with the reality of technology, daily. I would love for you to help me integrate it in a fun and exciting way. I am requesting help to purchase a subscription for Brain Pop Jr. as well as Time for Kids Magazine and online portal. This is a great way to connect home to school, as well as technology integration. Time for Kids makes reading relevant and fun. Along with these subscriptions I am also asking for help in purchasing headphones for each child in my room. Working at a Title 1 school, not all families are able to purchase supplies, such as headphones. This would help make sure every child in my classroom has all of their needs meet, and none of them are distracted at school, or home, when using technology.
