My goal is to include mindfulness in our high school through daily practice for students.
I am teaching a mindfulness class called Mindful U as an elective choice for high school students.
In addition to an established mindfulness curriculum, I would love to have books for a book study as well as materials for projects that represent different aspects of mindfulness. The materials I have requested would allow students to use their creativity while practicing mindfulness. Students will make a gratitude chime (gratitude), a calming glitter bottle (mindful breathing) paint pebbles as we read "Handful of Quiet: Happiness in Four Pebbles (interconnection to nature), practice poses on the yoga mats (mindful movement) and calm their minds with coloring books (self-regulation). With these materials, students will be able to take with them a tangible reminder of the mindfulness skills they learn this semester!
