Can you imagine a classroom where each student is able to work on different academic levels, reach individual educational goals, use technology to help them along the way and learn in an environment that is flexible for them?
Each student is learner but how they learn is different from one another. My students are 21st century learners. Majority of my students come from neighborhoods and homes that are poverty stricken and academically limited so the classroom needs to be a rich place full of learning and academic engagement. A classroom that is limited in supplies and resources is a disservice to the student who needs more- needs more hands on learning, needs more pencils and notebooks, needs more food to satisfy their hunger and distraction, needs a more flexible learning environment to let out emotions and get back on track. My classroom is a safe place for students that come from diversity and difficulty.
