Imagine being in a high school English class that you dread going to because you cannot read at the level you should. You sit at your desk dreading having to read because youre not good at it, and you count the minutes until class is over, hoping you are never called on. Well, my entire class is made up of those kids. Those low level readers that no one else wants. How long could you work before you became bored or gave up if you didn't have the skill set to read? As an adult, it is hard for me to focus sometimes, and I enjoy reading.
Children NEED to be able to move around and work where they are the most comfortable, especially in a class of reluctant readers. These chairs will give my students a comfortable place to sit and delve into their reading. Wobble chairs will not only make students more comfortable, but it will allow the students the ability to wiggle when they start to get antsy. The wobble chairs will allow my more active students to release some of their energy in a way that won't distract others.
Flexible seating is a MUST in a classroom with reluctant readers. Children can easily lose their focus and become a classroom disruption, so these materials will help ALL of my students become more successful to grow as readers.
