My students need access to a positive and inviting focus area for collaborative learning. I want to provide them with an environment where they WANT to read, write, compute, think critically, discuss, and explore. In my classroom, students work in a flexible seating environment where they choose an area that will support their daily successes. By providing them with daily choices, they are empowered to make positive choices and therefore be productive classroom citizens. Our school is a Title I school and I am committed to supporting all of my students in a way that will close the achievement gap. I believe that all students can learn. With the proper support in the right environment they may do so regardless of external factors. Each student in my classroom deserves equal opportunities, and with your support, I can do exactly that.
