I teach in a historically high poverty area that serves special needs students from communities that have low employment and high drop-out rates. Being from a Title I school with more than half of students who receive free or reduced lunch, many of them cannot afford to provide basic school supplies. Despite the many challenges they face, I strive to provide my students with a safe, stable and exciting environment.
These students are rising scholars, manufacturers, creators and entrepreneurs who need the right step forward to be the best they can be.
My students want to live up to their potential. They want to transcend their parents' successes and establish a good lives for themselves. Many times this just is not possible. The students want to be accepted. With your help they can reach their goals be take on the world. By meeting their needs, we create a level playing field and allow all to grow at their own rate!
