My class is the self contained classroom in one of the elementary schools in my district. My students are in my class because they cannot participate in regular education classes due to social reasons or academic reasons. I have learning disabled students, autism students, emotional disabled students, and Other Health Impaired students. Some of my students become frustrated easily with the demand of academic work or situations with other peers. This causes many outburst throughout the week.
My school is a high poverty school. All the children receive free lunch. The school provides food bags for students to take home on long weekends due to there not being food at many of the homes. There are many students that the school has purchased clothes and shoes for as well.
