I teach Kindergarten and first-grade students who are on the autism spectrum in Massachusetts. They are eight completely unique little bundles of joy. They challenge me and help me strive to be a better teacher every single day. Each student learns in his or her different way, and I enjoy figuring out strategies to help them understand how to navigate the world that they live in.
My students are the most diverse students in our district; they teach their peers love, empathy, understanding, and the joys of neurodiversity.
My students learn in an inner-city school that consists mainly of English language learners. All of the children receive free or reduced-price lunch and definitely face some hardships in their young lives.
