I am a 3rd year teacher and have 16 amazing 4th grade students in my class, 9 boys and 7 girls. My students are always excited about learning and are working hard on becoming super scientists and mathematicians. Because I am such a new teacher, I am still working on stocking my classroom on a limited budget.
I teach at a school where all of my students receive free and reduced breakfast and lunch.
A lot of my students come from high poverty families, some are living in shelters, but they do not allow that to get in their way.
We are working on ordering some basic back to school supplies as well as new manipulatives for our classroom in order to help us become better mathematicians. These manipulatives and supplies will allow my students to use a concrete and hands-on approach to learning. This will keep my students engaged and in control of their learning.
