I may be biased but my students are amazing! I teach an inclusion second grade class in a small elementary school. I am constantly amazed by how my students work together to solve problems and to become better global citizens. The abilities of my students range greatly but they are always trying to help one another and learn from their peers around them. They also make a conscious effort to include everyone. During Autism Awareness Month we discussed how we could be better friends to those who may be different from us. The class began working on a list of actions that they could do on a daily basis. They then asked if they could start eating lunch and having recess with the ABA class. We were able to set up a schedule with their teacher and my class was able to make real friendships with students that they used to shy away from. We were no longer talking about how to be better friends, we were doing it! These students are caring and compassionate and make the best coworkers!
