We learn best through experience and meaningful challenges. Scholastic News Classroom Magazines bring motivation and meaning to literacy lessons. We also have computers and personal devices available. We can use the online resources and activities to reinforce concepts and practice skills in a variety of ways to reach all learners. The format is great for whole group, small group, and individualized learning. In addition, the magazines are aligned with Common Core literacy goals and the topics support our science and social studies curricula. The links to STEM topics reinforce the importance of 21st Century learning and citizenship.
Scholastic News provides reading practice via interesting selections, interactive activities, and access to internet tools.
Students will participate in structured activities at school to increase reading fluency and comprehension. Then, they can share their magazines and favorite topics at home. My second graders will be highly engaged and motivated as they learn about real life topics reading their weekly magazines.
