I am requesting funding for 6 Amazon Fire Tablets with cases and a charging station. These tablets will open up a multitude of learning opportunities!
My junior kindergarteners will become independent, 21st-century learners through the use of these tablets.
Junior kindergartners will use the tablets to create a digital portfolio, which parents will be able to access creating a better school to home connection. Students will be able to compose and dictate their stories. A world of literature will be opened up to them through online books. They will practice their math skills and solidify their understanding of shapes through various apps and games. Students will also practice skills that are necessary for state testing.
Currently, we have one classroom iPad that we are sharing between 18 students. My classroom is not yet at the level technologically to meet the students' needs as 21st-century learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
