More than three-quarters of the students in our district are economically disadvantaged. Many of my students benefit from having programs like free and reduced lunch at school. They face challenges in their lives which can make being successful in the classroom more difficult.
My students are curious eight and nine-year-olds that are eager to learn in a hands-on way. They look forward to using technology, completing projects and of course reading interesting literature that reaches out to them.
I like to think of my classroom as a home away from home for my students and I. We truly become a family as the year progresses. We welcome each other with a positive mindset and a safe environment every day.
