Students today struggle to learn in a traditional classroom setting. Part of this is because they are not comfortable in traditional desks and chairs. I would like to allow my students some choices and control over their education and this seems to be a very positive way to do that.
Most students are not accustomed to sitting in a chair. Most students sit on the floor, on sofas and even on gaming chairs at home and are often very engaged in their activities. I would like to transfer this concept to my classroom in an effort to improve retention.
Flexible seating would allow the opportunity for students to interact with one another on a more casual level and allow for more collaboration between small groups. To this end, I am requesting bean bag chairs and Neorok stools.
