I teach a 1st and 2nd grade special day class for students with mild to moderate disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism (with a variety of levels on the spectrum), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), behavioral issues, speech and language impairments, as well as social and emotional impairments that hinder my students from being in a general education setting.
Most of the students are bused from our city's low income areas, and 1/4 of my students families do not speak any English.
