Hi,
I just was appointed to lead our new STEM Discovery Design Lab for our elementary students, grades K-4.
One of my goals in this new role is to support 21st Century learning through engaging my students in active learning and engineering problem solving.
My students are excited to work with these new technologies, they are natural learners and grow with every learning experience opportunity offered to them.
Many of my students only are familiar with the gaming aspect of technology, and I want my students to learn about ways technology can help solve problems in their community, and in their world. I want my students to feel empowered with the knowledge of STEM so they can offer clever solutions using problem solving skills.
Lastly, I want my students to learn to work collaboratively in groups since this is the way our world functions, solving problems through communication, compromise, and creativity.
