My students attend an urban high school and they come from very diverse cultural/economical backgrounds. They are eager to use technology in their everyday lives! Technology is an important tool that belongs in the hands of all students regardless of their economic backgrounds. Through this project, I want to help my students reach their full potentials, to dream big, and to make a positive impact on their communities. Many of the young men and women in my classroom don't see how literature fits into their lives. More often then not, they are reluctant to speak and share their thoughts with the class, but when I read their literature response journals, I am impressed and brought to tears.
Technology can help them grow and develop into life long learners and better prepare them to meet the demands of a fast, changing world. If students are not provided the tools they need to learn, how can we expect them to succeed?
