Talbot Elementary School (built in 1984) in the Northwest part of Gainesville. My class is part of this school community that serves a diverse population of approximately 740 PreK -5th grade students in Alachua County.
I have children who are beginning readers as well as children who are still learning their alphabet. I have children who are ready to tackle each day with an enthusiasm for learning as well as children who needs a little more encouragement.
I believe that Kindergarten is a wonderful year of growth and learning. In my class, we learn so many things in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. We learn to ask questions and explore the world around us. We learn to be problem solvers. We learn to not give up and to keep trying when things are difficult. We learn that it's ok to make mistakes, because that is how we learn. We learn how to work together and be part of a community.
