These hands-on centers will help my students explore balance and gravity by allowing them to build taller structures. These materials will also allow my students another way to explore family relationships through play with a dollhouse and dolls. When the children are playing together in these centers they are communicating with each other and often problem-solving. If their block tower keeps falling over, they have to problem solve to get it to stand. If they do not have enough blocks, they might have to negotiate with another child in the center to use some of their blocks. The children will also have to negotiate taking turns on the tricycles. These centers help build a lot of different skills that the children will use throughout their lives.
