My students have exceptionally high sensory needs. They constantly seek out ways to regulate their bodies. When they are given the tools the meet their sensory needs, they are able to better focus throughout the day. I would like to provide the children in my class the opportunity to be fully able to concentrate on the task at hand, rather than trying to regulate their sensory needs before they are able to access what is being taught.
The bouncy seat and wobble chair will provide some of my students an opportunity to wiggle during circle time, reading, or work stations while still completing their work. The visual timers will provide other students an opportunity to remain in whole group will having something entrancing to see. The chew toys and pull toys will allow some of my students to meet some of their oral sensory needs by giving them an appropriate item to put in their mouth. The water beads and colored rice will make sensory bins for all of my students to enjoy.
