Kindergarten is a vital year for emergent readers. Reading is a new concept to many of my Kindergarteners and I want to be sure I can provide a variety of books and different reading levels that my students feel comfortable reading independently.
My goal for my project is to raise enough money to be able to build my library for books my students can add to their reading bag to read throughout the day as well as at home! Many of my students do not have access to books at home and I want to provide them with books they can take home and read independently to create a reciprocal learning process at home as well as school. These books will allow my students to have opportunities to widen their variety of books and give them more resources to build their reading "super powers."
My students LOVE to read and I am excited to get this project started to help my students have more books in their little hands! The books I have chosen will be higher interest books on the students' specific reading levels. I have requested these books to ensure they will be confident readers in which they understand and comprehend what they are reading.
