Technology is an amazing way to motivate students to have fun while they learn, but also be engaged at the same time. We currently have two classroom iPad Minis and one teacher iPad that the students use. Receiving four more will allow one iPad per table to promote teamwork and more hands on learning.
We use our iPads for reading, math, and writing small group stations throughout the day, as well as whole group teaching time. As a class we use our iPads to scan QR codes to direct us to read aloud books and educational websites. We also use educational apps to help with phonics, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary. The iPads also help us become better writers by creating our own stories or books. In math, we use apps to help us with word problems and interactive number lines and ten frames. During whole group teaching, the students can brainstorm together to solve word problems that I provide.
My class would tremendously benefit from this donation, and help my students build better relationships with their classmates and table families.
