Students will investigate weather using the Digital Weather Center, the Smart Lab Toys You-Track-It Weather Lab, and the Learning Resources Weather Center to experience reading weather instruments like a meteorologist.
Students will discover the patterns of daily and season weather changes over time when they record and track the readings of the weather instruments.
Students will enhance their critical thinking skills to become authors when they use the engaging, informational weather texts to research weather and create their own book containing information about seasons, clouds, extreme weather, and tools used to forecast weather. They will share their self-published books with the fifth graders in our school that also learn about weather.
