With my students’ diverse backgrounds, it is essential that I provide my students with many different opportunities for learning. In addition, the Common Core standards are pushing students towards Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. To help meet this goal, I need to provide my students with STEM activities and goggles for safety equipment that will excite and encourage them to think critically and problem solve while being actively engaged with these STEM Inquiry kits.
Hands-on learning is the best way for a child to be a part of the learning process. Students enhance their critical thinking and problem solving skills by looking at a task and deciding what is the best approach to complete the task. Students also learn to work together and accept differing perspectives of solving a problem. These are all crucial life long skills for students to develop. Using these STEM kits on bubbles, buoyancy, chemical reactions, and catapults, will help my students grow and build a foundation that will support them as they expand their knowledge and comfort in the areas on science, technology, engineering, and math.
