Greetings!
I'm a speech-language pathologist that primarily works with underprivileged students with autism, intellectual disability, and other social-communication disorders. I work in the special needs district in the NYC Department of Education that services these students. Throughout my day I focus on using a variety of visual aids to assist with communication in the therapy room, classroom and other appropriate locations around the school. These aids may include picture symbols, communication boards, and communication devices such as an iPad with a communication app installed. Additionally I like to schedule trips around the city that will expose my students to activities they may not regularly participate in like going through an obstacle course in a cross-fit gym, or making pizza in a parlor. I really enjoy what I do and hope to use all of the tools at my disposal to help my students achieve success
