I want to bring in more equipment for activities that inspire students to learn independently. Items like laser cutters, 3D printers, and digital sewing machines, digital sensors for recording and analyzing data, robots and drones to build, electrical projects to learn the fundamentals of electricity, hands-on materials for unplugged activities, and lots and lots of field trips and special speakers. We're dreaming big!
For our first project on Donors Choose, our class received a reverse osmosis water supply in the classroom that has made a huge difference by decreasing the amount of distractions from students coming and going to buy water. It seems there have been fewer behaviors associated with mild dehydration that many students seem to experience.
Our second project was for programmable drones and both female and male students have said how fun they to play with and learn.
