My TV Production classes will be producing a morning TV news show for the school, as well as features, sports and entertainment. We're teaching them broadcast journalism practices and ethics/laws, storyboarding, as well as delivering important information to the school.
My classes are 6-8 graders and this is a brand new class and curriculum. We are focusing on our minority and ELL students to boost attendance, reading, writing, collaboration and critical thinking skills. The students are excited about this program and need help bringing their visions to fruition. We enjoy storyboarding and working on video editing getting ready for our first debute on "Halo TV". The equipment will allow the students to have the hands-on opportunity to learn and understand the various jobs and equipment used in a broadcast setting. We are a secondary middle school with a diverse population. Our school is 100% free lunch, English language learners where Spanish is the primary language spoken at home.
