Basketball is one of the main games of choice during lunch and nutrition break. Our school has three basketball courts on our outdoor blacktop. These are in constant use by both girls and boys during both PE and lunch. We also have free time during PE which we call open court many of our students start pickup basketball games. However, some of our students have not had any education in basketball meaning that they can feel left out during these activities.
Basketball is a social currency at Bret Harte that every student deserves to participate in. Right now we have a few basketballs but they are very worn out from constant use and enjoyment. Having materials to teach basketball units would be very helpful for our students. Having a class set of basketballs and cones would be helpful to teach everyone at there level from basic to expert. Please help us achieve our basketball dreams.
