I teach 66 5th and 6th grade math students in a rural community high in the southern Rockies. The poverty level is very high and the average student is over 2 years behind in math. However, I am committed to closing the achievement gap and giving my students the benefits that come from being proficient in math. To make this promise a reality I have launched an ambitious technology-based curriculum that gives each child access to math materials at their level.
