Music education has evolved to incorporate advanced technology within the rehearsal space. This requires us to the have the equipment we need to incorporate fresh and new ideas into today's music education classroom. The Music Department needs a PA system to utilize within classroom and performance spaces.
The TouchMix-30 Pro sound board would allow over 400 students to experience new and exciting literature in all disciplines of music. Many new pieces of music are being composed that incorporate computer engineered sounds to be blended with the acoustic sounds of traditional band, choir, and orchestras. This often requires the conductor to play with a click track within their ear to make sure ensemble and computer match perfectly. This has the opportunity to create new and complex sounds not often heard from traditional ensembles.
We also have many ensembles that require the use of live sound equipment when performing. In particular, the band program has two jazz bands that require sound equipment for bringing out vocal and instrumental solos as the bands are performing. Choir would utilize the equipment during their off campus functions where soloists and ensembles need to be amplified. The orchestra program would like to have the opportunity to bring in artists from outside of the community however, they often need amplification to play over top of ensembles.
Our school is the first school within School District 2 to introduce a new type of music program to students called 鈥淢odern Band鈥. Modern band combines students from all other music disciplines at Senior High School to form a group that utilizes modern instrumentation. Modern Band instrumentation utilizes voice, guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and computer to create its sound.
