These much needed supplies will make a difference in my students learning by providing them with colors that actually work! Currently our supply of markers are non-functional to dried out. They are unable to provide the students with consistent colors or values.
This is important because the students designed their entire Madala from scratch. They created the design using pattern blocks, tanagrams and compasses. Then they applied their knowledge of color theory to create color schemes for every component of their design. This process required 4 months of effort. However as the three 4th grade classes used their supplies the amount of working markers to add color dwindled to the non-fictional or nonuseful. This will result in next year鈥檚 4th grade students being unable to complete their ideas to their fullest potential.
