Our school is a publicly funded charter embracing a philosophy of structuring our student's learning within community-based, interdisciplinary projects conducted as collaborations between different subject areas. Our students are admitted through a lottery to create a population representing the diverse county that we are part of; our classroom includes learners of all levels and talents. Operating in our project-based environment, this diverse population has access to a great deal of personalization, collaboration, community interactions and hands on work as our students support each other'脙聜脗聶s learning during the course of their group projects. With authentic opportunities to take on different roles during these projects, my students are able to learn in a personalized, hands-on, real-world setting.
