These items are items that you would normally find in a general education classroom throughout the country. However, our district is vastly under served and most classrooms lack the basic materials to be successful. We will use these materials to continue our growth and will primarily be used for Literacy skills.
These items are materials that we will use to close the gap, they are not special items, they are not project specific; they are simply materials that will close the gap between our class and those around the country.
We will use the chairs and listening center during our literacy block to continue our language immersion. We will use the kinetic sand in a sensory center that will also be used for literacy skills, such as building letters with sand and digging for sight words in the sand. The guided reading kit will be used by myself during our small group instruction time and is the last kit I need to be adequately prepared for guided reading with scholars of all levels. Lastly, the lamp and Christmas lights are to brighten up our classroom without having to use the overhead lights that are too bright for a Kindergarten room.
