My students cover the spectrum of everything you can imagine in a 6th grade classroom. I've got students who show up super motivated and ready to learn. I've got students who were up all night playing video games because no one cares what they do so long as they're quiet. I've got students who only care about being respected because that's the only thing that matters in life. I've got students who want to be a part of class but they're too embarrassed because maybe they don't read on level or English is something that they are still learning. I've got every student I could have imagined and then some. There's as many different opinions about school as there are students, but the important thing is that they keep showing up. As long as you show up you keep giving me the chance to prove to you that school is valuable and worth your time. It's not always easy, but it is always worth the effort.
