We are requesting a variety of mindfulness games and activities, journals, a Choices Jar, pillow inserts and coloring books. With these tools and activities, students will be able to have an outlet to deal with social-emotional hurdles in their lives so they can enter the class room and feel successful. Activity books, games and reflection space will allow students to learn different strategies to help them develop an emotional vocabulary and help support their learning/posture in and towards class.
Students who have a safe space to decompress and self reflect will set themselves up for excellence and confidence.
They will be able to choose from a variety of activities like playing with kinect sand and blocks that will help students with increased focus and provide sense of calm. Mindfulness games and coloring books will also help students to learn how to express themselves also help create a calm head space. Students will also have access to meet with a trusted adult/teacher in this space. I have seen the progress in having these resources for children/teens to be able to process and overcome challenges. Students feel confident and more engaged in and out of the classroom.
