In my classroom, my students are striving daily to beat the odds. As a native of Utica, MS, I take pride in being a teacher in my hometown. Living in a high-needs area can bring many challenges and obstacles that my students must face and adjust to, in and out of school.
Our motto for this year is "Delivering on the Promise of Utica." My students are very interactive and it is my desire to provide a safe and fun classroom environment, where they are excited to attend daily. My goal is to continue to find valuable resources that can enhance the class and promote academic excellence. Students will be even more motivated to learn when they have the necessary tools.
While growing up, I was always taught to never let the odds of being from Utica determine my success. I strive daily to be a positive example to my students and show them that everyone can be successful, regardless of where they're from. I love Utica, MS!
