If you look around our school cafeteria and classrooms, you will see plastic water bottles in almost every corner. Sadly, much of this waste ends up in landfills and in our oceans. I am starting a recycling club to teach our students about sustainability and the responsibility we all have to take care of our precious planet.
This composting project will allow students to learn the science behind composting through hands-on learning. This project will include the materials that are needed to start a compost including red worms, a compost container, soil, and educational videos and books. We will use the rich humus that we gain by composting to beautify our school with flowers and herbs come Spring. The whole school community will benefit from this worthy project. Please help our school to Go Green!
