Did you learn to read music in elementary school, or do you wish you had? My students are doing a lot less singing and a lot more instrument playing this year, due to COVID. They're currently learning to read and play music on old-but-functional xylophones, which is fine, but the mallets they are using are NOT fine.
They are currently using many generations of old wooden mallets - thin/fat, long/short, and every variation inbetween. Very few of the mallets create a matched set. The sound and 'feel' of the music is uneven at best with unmatched mallets. Multiply that sound by 25 students and, well, for the work they are putting in, they should be hearing a lot better music!
These kids work hard. Their parents come to their concerts to support their child and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Please consider donating - all our ears would appreciate it!
