The climb and crawl will fit perfectly in our sensory corner that is already equipped with a bean bag. We love that all the pieces can be moved around to allow the children to design their own structure.
The dividers will be used in the sensory corner where the climb and crawl will be located. The dividers serve as a safe boundary to provide the children with endless opportunities to explore and take risks without getting hurt. The dividers will also close off the area when sensory time is over, preventing distractions and behaviors while transitioning to the next activity.
In addition to using the climb and crawl in the sensory corner during sensory breaks and indoor recess, we will also use both these items during other activities in the classroom. For example, when learning about prepositions through movement, we will practice using the climb and crawl to go 鈥渙n,鈥 鈥渦nder,鈥 and 鈥渋n!鈥 The climb and crawl will also be used to encourage language opportunities and work on transitioning from a preferred activity. The climber and dividers will immensely support opportunities to develop language skills, motor skills, and social emotional skills.
