My lively bunch of 3rd graders are highly motivated and enthusiastic! They are transitioning from reading simple picture books to challenging chapter books. They are excited to see their reading skills progress each day. Most of my students are English Language Learners, who also live in a low income neighborhood. Despite many hurdles that they face every day, they come to school with a desire to learn and achieve their goals daily. My students embrace the technology that they are able to use everyday, but when the simple necessities, such as a printer are not available to them, it limits their possibilities.
