In order to keep up with ever changing educational practices, I find it to be so imperative that students are actively engaged in the learning process. The donations of reading and math educational games are perfect for our small group time because they will facilitate students not only in academic growth but with social development as well.
My five and six year olds are enthusiastic and investigative learners whom love to explore and grow through interactive experiences. I spend careful time planning and creating diverse activities for students that include hands on materials so children can utilize them throughout the year. The one problem that continually arises, is after a short time, things break, and weaken, leaving students with less to play and learn with. These donations will be beneficial in our classroom because they are high quality, academically driven and will last for years to come!
The engaging learning process will ensue with these social and academic activities in addition to having flexible classroom seating; which will also facilitate more self-control and body awareness. Flexible seating will allow my students to be more aware of their bodies while we meet together on the carpet and focus on our daily tasks. Some of my students require constant motion. These cushions aid in providing them with a movement option without distracting their peers. Students can also utilize these cushions around the room, at their tables or even when they go to lunch! I have recently borrowed a few from another colleague, and my students are currently on a rotating schedule to utilize them because of the benefits of staying focused and 鈥渒eeping their bodies to themselves.鈥
These donations would be so helpful and put to great use! We look forward to continuing to create an engaging and diverse learning environment!
