I teach all subject matter in a 5th-grade classroom in southwest Missouri. I love opening my students' eyes about the wonders of the beautiful world around them. My students will easily tell you that my two passions are books and traveling. :) I have been to 15 different countries and over half of our US states. Because we live in the middle of America, places like the rainforest and the desert are almost foreign ideas to our kids. I can't tell you how much I love bringing my many experiences and adventures into the classroom so they can see different cultures as well as see history and science come alive. I also have an every-increasing classroom library where my students quickly learn that they can go to any place in the world (real or make-believe) through a few pieces of paper. I work each day to make the world come alive in my classroom and for each child to know that they are safe, respected, and loved.
