My students are ELLs in an urban, Title One district with a low SES. My students have entered the country for several reasons. Some come here to escape refugee camps, others for an education that would not be possible in other parts of the world. Some are here to help family, and some just for a new start. More than 90% of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. They do not have access to some of the amenities as students from suburban areas.
